Roller rocker question
I ordered a set of proform 1.5 self aligning roller rockers this week for my new engine, and I had a question, it says they are made for 3/8 studs, does that mean 3/8 size pushrods or no, if so what size are the stock pushrods in a 70's 010 casting 350 and can I use them with these roller rockers, if not which pushrods do you reccomend. Thanks

Studs have nothing to do with push rods.
Push rod size does not vary according to block casting. Stock SBC ones are all 5/16" in all block castings.
Stock studs are 3/8".
They should fit fine, except for your valve covers. You shouldn't have to do anything with the push rods.

They are talking about the stud the rocker sits on not the pushrods. SBC heads have either 3/8 or 7/16 studs. If you heads are nothing exotic you should have the 3/8 studs and the roller rockers you bought will work.

Be careful with those proform roller rockers! I've heard some BAD stories about them, most coming from Jeg's guys on the phone! So if the engine starts acting bad or something is wrong, quit running the engine and pull some valve covers!

From people around, that they are brittle and the 1.5 ratio is not accurate (one may be a 1.45 ratio, the next one down is a 1.54 ratio...etc), and from a jeg's tech guy, that they've had some come back that were snapped in half and what have you. Just be careful, and if something all the sudden goes drastically wrong when u'r racin that import, first thing i'd check is the proforms. From my past experience I have never had anything work "right the first time" with proform. They're stuff has always seemed sub-par, and I've always found myself doing some kind of fabricating just to get the crap to work. Not saying that's the way it is for all their stuff, and I do hope they work great for you, but that's why I spent the extra to get the crane gold race roller rockers, and I havn't used proform anything for a while now. Good luck bro.

Alright man, thanks for the heads up, I really wanted to get the crane gold race rockers but I am on an extremely tight budget, I hope that nothing goes wrong but if something does I will probably switch to them Ive heard nothing but good things about them. Thanks again.
