y'all ever paint your water pumps?
I just got my box of goodies from Summit, and I need to paint my water pump. Everything on this blasted island rusts within hours of opening. Any suggestions? I do have access to VHT , and such. Not looking for flashy, just not ghetto under "da hood".
Also It is a FLOW COOLER high output (1774). You guys have comments on these pumps?

Regular old high temp engine paint will work fine. Spray it down with Brakleen (dries totally clean and grease-free) to get the packing grease and schmutz off of it and then hose it down with the paint spray can. Don't paint the input shaft where the pulley/fan bolts on, but everything else is fair game. Look at it from multiple angles- there's a lot of cracks and crevices to get paint into.

I painted mine with engine paint. Didn't with the other and that got all nastly looking with rust. People paint their pumps all the time.

I painted my too. I'm glad I did, it looks so much better painted black. Use high temp paint, it will last forever!

nah, its a flow cooler brand. I told them to just get me the cheapy, cuz i don't want to invest alot if i sell it to japanese, but they sent me a high flow one. Nice piece though. A few more bucks, but if i do sell it will get swapped and end up on the IROC back in the states.
Part # 1774 in the summit catalog, nice piece for 75.00 bucks!!!
