Dart iron eagle heads springs
Dart iron eagle heads springs
What's up? I have Dart Iron Eagle heads purchased already assembled. I'm going to run this cam: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...%2D8&view=1024
The lift is .488 int and .495 exh. I hear the Iron Eagle heads peak at .500 lift. I'm in the market for new rocker arms. I plan to use the rocker steel tip by comp cam to match my cam. The choice is between the 1.52 and 1.6 rocker arms. Preferably, I'll like the 1.6 rocker arms to take most advantage of the heads.
The potential problem that I'm asking about is this...
I received some info but not all from a reliable source about this matter. I understand that I should be fine on guide to retainer clearence. I also understand that I should have clearance between the 1.6 pushrod and pushrod hole. However, I don't know what the coil bind(max lift) is for the springs on these pre-assembled set of heads.
I'm also concerned about longetivity too between different rocker arm ratios if that takes part in the equation.
Thanks

IIRC they supply Comp 981 springs when you order those heads with the minimum, stock-diameter springs.
I would recommend getting them with at least the 1.45" springs instead, rather than stressing the lesser entry-level components to their absolute max.
