Maybe my most stupid question yet!!!

Alright, I did something a little dumb, I got the "wrong" spark plug wires. But are they? They are Accell 8.8mm wires, for the 1987 trans am w/ v-8 (universal fit) However, the have stright boot on one side, and 90 degree on the other. My current wires have 90 degree boots for the spark plugs and distributer. Well, I checked the stright boots clear the bood when put on the distributer cap, but do I have to worry about them falling off? (See I told ya, a real dumb one) If I have to return 'em I gotta dig for the reciept....(yuck)
Thanks
Corry

The straight boot is for the spark plug(s). With GM V8s, they use "mixed" boots on the spark plugs (and 90* on the distributor). If you switch to headers, then most people will use 90* boots on the spark plugs to clear the primariy tubes of the headers (but still 90* boots on the distributor).

IF you have a straight boot on the distributor side AND it is NOT a spark plug boot; then someone at the manufacturer f'd up.

Well, I got the SLP 1 and 3/4" headers, so looks like I'm digging through some trash/reciept piles. Never thought to look at the length of the straight boots
Thanks for answering the dumb question

Hey dont feel bad I made the same dumb mistake before.

Anyway, with headers you're going to need custom fit wires anyway. It's where you cut each wire to your desired length. Also, pick up some wire separators. They are only like $6. You don't need the $40+ wire looms either.
