What in the heck is this???

I am talking about the barbed outlet underneath my Edelbrock/BBK throttle body. There is nothing attached to it, and i am wondering what it is because i have not seen anything like this before, but I bought this car used and setup with this throttle body.
I covered it up with my finger and the engine rpm and sound did not change through out about 3000 rpm, didn't take it any higher than that. If you are looking from the front, this is on the right hand side of the IAC valve.

Relax! That is where coolant goes to "cool" the throttle body down. But who ever owned the car before you removed teh coolant lines because removing the lines cool the throttle body better than having the lines hooked up.

Actually it's there to HEAT the throttle body up...Helps prevent icing. Never had the problem, but I guess if you go through very thick fog, while it's very cold, and your engine is still cold, you might get icing

Yea, A lot of folks do the throttle body bypass, but I personally don't see any benefits once the engine warms up.
I actually did it on my Vette for a few months, and it helped maybe for 5 minutes on a cold engine. I ended up returning it to stock.
On my LT1 it 'T'ed into the top radiator hose, and then 'T'ed into a line running to the reservoir. Not sure on the L98 though.
...and 'mgray10' I guess if it's super cold you could be getting a little 'carb icing' -- or in this case 'TB Icing'...
You know we use a deal called 'Carb Heat' (Looks like a manual choke) everytime I'm in an idle decent with small Cessna airplanes - so there's something to this...
