Throttle Body Bypass Question
Hey all. I read an article with a rouph sketch on a firebird page about a throttle body bypass for improved throttle responce. It was described by a "how to" for a 86 trans Am and the picture used seems different then mine. It was a TPI Setup like mine is (1992 Firebird TPI 305...mine) but looked different with the hoses. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me exactly what I need to do on MY car to get that improved throttle responce. Thanks all!

Hi, well the trouble i'm having is figuring our which two of the hoses there are the right ones. I've got The large one going from the Radiator to the thermostat housing...I"m assuming that's NOT it, I've got a very small tube section right to the left of that that just forms a U (right underneath the Throttle body on my TPI) Then there are more to the left of that, on the left side of my Throttle body. Then there are the assortment of heater valve hoses and junk all to the left of those as well. So, is the one I'm looking for the VERY small ones directly left of the thermostat housing, or are the the set of hoses left of that??
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks for the pic
That link you gave is the same link that I was originally referring too
and that tube on the far right is strange to me because the only thing I have similar to that is my radiator tube going to the thermostat housing...so the picture doesn't seem exactly like my car...your picture however shows a different spot than that link does....those tubes you have connected together...One is from the heater control valve right? And that one coming from right to left under your TB...where does that one connect to so I know which tube to remove....Thanks and sorry if I"m not catching on to this quicker...
Cheers

The tube on the right connects the port on the intake base to the port on the bottom of the throttle body. Coolant flows from the base, then through the throttle body, then to the heater valve.

The one that you noticed yourself as being U shaped. Remove the U, and connect the hose in the above pic to where the bottom of the U was connected.
