oil pan

im dropping in a pre 86 350 in a 90 camaro, is there a special oil pan i need? i read some post about dipsticks being in the way and what not. just wondering if everything will be ok. the motor came out of a 79 monte carlo, so i know the oil pan fit in it. any suggestions?

I would check cross member clearance. It should be okay but those are always your famous last words. I would try to compair it to a stock f-body pan just to make sure. If it is to close you may not be able to run a y-pipe.

I swapped a 73' Blazer engine into mine and had no problem. The 73' oil pan is actually smaller than my original.

i've swapped in several 70s 350 into thirdgens with not problems from stock oil pans or the dip sticks, but always used headers.
