knocking noise under the car?

i have another question about my 74 camaro. theres a knocking nouse under the car and it knocks like once per second every 1000 rpm. the more rpm the faster it knocks. what the heck could it be the exhaust pipe? it sounds mostly under where i sit

Sounds like it could be your wheel bearings. I had the same issue with my beater not too long ago.

well i forgot to mention that the knocking is consistant when im not moving at idle. when i rev the engine its knocks faster. its not the engine its self but something where the exhaust is. its flowmaster. is there any moving parts underneith when youre not moving and the engine is going? if not then it must be the flowmaster

Sounds like a broken tranny mount. If the thumping is fast and increases with speed than that is most likely the culptrit. If you also hear it at low speeds but over big bumps than that is pretty much your problem. The GM pieces are garbage and it is time to get a poly one. Do not replace it with a GM unit.

Sounds like something isn't kosher with the engine's bottom end. I had all the same symptoms with my '71 monte carlo, turns out it was a main bearing.

Clutch/flywheel/flexplate/torque converter and related parts are always suspect.

I agree with Vader. I had a lower end knock or so I thought. I was in the proscess of removing the pan, and noticed that all the torgue converter bolts were loose.
