TPI swap problems
Im outa ideas on this one. I got a 85 camaro and decided to go with tpi for it. I got a setup and got it installed. Worked "ok" and drove it for awhile like that. By ok, i mean it had some power but not what I thought it should. Im not getting any codes. When I would hit WOT it didnt sound like it was getting enough fuel or the timming wasnt advanced enough. I thought the computer advanced it to optimum advance. I tryed advancing it a little, yes i disconected the spark advance wire, and it would just ping real bad. So i set it back and figured it had to be fuel related. So I Installed a brand new in tank pump, aeroquip -06 hose from the sending unit to the fuel rail. looks nice, but still dont have the performance it should. Ok, lets throw more money at it. This past saturday, we installed 8 brand new accell 26lb injectors and a tpis AFPR. We set it at 50psi. Now it still runs like garbage and stalled out on the road. wouldnt start for a half hour later by turning the key on and off cycling the fuel pump. Today it seems ok, but what else can I look for? Ignition? Thanks for any ideas. Also, what should I set my timing at? 0 degrees?

Put a timing light on it, set it back to where it's supposed to be, and leave it alone. That's not going to solve the problem.
What exactly is the motor you put this on?
What chip is in the ECM?
Are there any trouble codes?
OBTW there's no such thing as a 85 RS.... they were Sport Coupes as the base model that year. They didn't start calling them all "RS" until 88.
The reason it stalled while driving is probably from too much fuel.

I am going to the timing tommorrow in the day light. I never got any definet answers to where it was saposed to be. I bought the car off someone who was starting a project and ran out of money. he told me it was an RS. its my first camaro, so im sorry for the mix up. The motor is out of a 1990 chevy caprice cop car. Its a roller motor. The chip is from jimsperformance.com. its a 350 chip with the vats, vss, and egr, emmisions disabled. It never tripped a trouble code. even when first installed and now after the new hardware.

The L05 has swirl-port heads, with this giant obstruction thing in them to give turbulence to the intake charge, that it limits flow somewhat severely. That's why it's never going to really run like it should.
There's no reason you should need significantly more fuel than the stock 22 lbs/hr injectors. You only need more fuel if you're getting more air, and with a flow restriction in the intake port of the heads, that's not happening.
You should try a new set of spark plugs first, I'd bet the ones that are in it now are rich-fouled; then back the fuel pressure off and see if it runs better.
You might also want to try a stock 350 chip first, get your fuel pressure and injector sizing somewhat dialed in with that; then try the other chip.

Thats ok I made my 85 Z28 an RS. RS GFX are
I'd agree with RB, you most likely fould all your plugs, theres no reason to run that much fuel pressure.
I'm not a fan of computer controlls but when someone burns you a custom chip and starts to remove certain functions you never know what all they messed with. Might wanna go over to the DIY prom board and see what the 411 is with jimsperformance.

Now im starting to learn more than I thought was involved. What heads and cam should I look for for a stock 350tpi setup or make more use of the bigger injectors? Should I see a noticable gain? Sounds like a stupid question, but I dont want to pull the motor all apart for little gain.
And thanks for the reply's. It will run right sooner or later!
