Turn key, 2 second pause before cranking
Yes its another starter question. I have searched but yet to find one that has the answer.
It started about a month ago.. the starter is less than a year old. When I turn the key their is about a 2 second pause before it starts to crank. Could it be the starter or be something with the wires?

The VATS in my 89 iroc controlled a relay in the wire that went to the starter solenoid, which disabled the starter. It's easy enough to jump, just remove the relay and put a 10 gauge jumper wire between the thick green and thick yellow wires.

Mine does this as well, but it started after I got an alarm system installed. There is a starter relay they put in there for some reason that doesn't let the car crank for a couple seconds. Don't ask me why, I guess it's just a security measure. Maybe it's part of your VATS system or something.
