The "IROC" Camaros were available from 85-90. But from 85-87, the IROC was just a package option on the Z28. In 88, the IROC replaced the Z28 as the top of the line edition of the Camaros. But in the early years the IROCs were "better" than the Z28s because they were avavilble with the 350s and better looking rims and such.

I've often heard that bigger swaybars and Bilstien struts were standard on all IROCs but an option for Z28s. I do know my IROC has the biggest baddest looking swaybar I've ever seen. It's like an inch and half or more in diameter.

Crappy 700R4 slushbox
Gutted airboxes

Advanced base TPS voltage
Relocated IAT sensor
Momo steering wheel (gotta luv it)
Ram-air setup coming soon
Flowmaster muffler (puke)
Taylor SpiroPro wires
Accel cap and rotor
Ported plenum
Kills: '94 Z28, Olds Aurora V8, bunch of Mustangs, T-birds, ricers, and others who assumed a 12 year-old car would be too slow.

Its pretty much the engine type and sometimes you get more options when you buy the better known name which is the IROC...but mostly it was engine the bigger engone was avaliable in the IROC and not in the Z28.

IROC's have better suspension, 1 color including GFX, IROC rims, and the option of a 350 TPI engine.
