That would be it, you really cant miss it, its the only long number on the heads. If you post what the number is I can find out what heads you have for you.

IIRC, these heads run along the same lines and the 416 and 081 heads. They are 305 heads. Bump them up to 1.94" intake valves and do some porting and they can flow pretty well. Do a search for Sitting Bull, i think he runs these heads with good success.

yeah the 601 heads arent bad, but if you have them on a 350 I imagine they are hurting your performence pretty bad if they are stock. Hey where in east Texas are you I am in Katy.

Im in Lufkin. They have been ported a lot and someone put 202 intake and 160 exaust valves in them. I was wondering if they cut all the hardened seat away when they did this. Is this going to be a problem? thanks

OH, well if they have been ported then you have a pretty good set of heads, although I have heard that putting any valves bigger than 1.94 and 1.6 will weaken the castings on those heads. Also I may be wrong about this but I think you need hardened seats to run unleaded fuel, I dont know what the consequences of taking them out would be.Hopefully one of the head experts will chime in and tell us. Also since your in Lufkin go to the south central region boards sometime we are planning on having a summer gathering in houston if your not worried about the drive.

Oh, I misunderstood you, no I dont believe that putting 2.02 and 1.6 valves in the heads will take out the hardened seats. It shouldnt because I know a few guys running 416 heads with them and they run unleaded fuel. I thought you were asking what would happen if you took them out. But no your heads should still have hardened seats even with the bigger valves. In fact I know a guy who sells these heads with the bigger valves and he claims to have hardened seats Ill see if I can post a link.

1.94 and 1.6 is about as large as id put into those. Any larger and you start to kill off the intake velocity.
