Rate Your Pump Gas

This may not be tech but some of us might be missing something.

-What brand of gas are you using for everyday driving, and how well does your engine run?
-What gas do you use for the strip?
-What octane?
-Which brand do you stay away from?

I use 89 from BP. I run 93 on the strip. The only other gas I will use is from Shell. All the other gas stations seem to have 10% ethenol.

I guess I forgot to add mine.
I run Citgo 92 octane since I have a Hypertech chip in it. I get about 18 MPG on city/hwy driving and easy on the pedal.
The local Citgo stations are brand new and don't have to worry so much about dirty storage tanks for now. I do not use the ones with methanol though. Citgo may not be the best but it sure beats them fly-by-night brands.
I think Amoco is a better choice since it has Techron and it helps keep your injection system cleaner.

AMOCO has Techron ??

I use cheapest 87 octane I can find, currently is Citgo at $1.29. Often use U.S. Gas brand. The car never knocks.

There is one noname place I will not use anymore, even though they are cheap, since their gas makes the car slow for some reason.

I use 93 octane from Citgo, and my engine runs fine. At the strip I add some NOS octane booster to the 93.

Correction, I meant Chevron has Techron.
Sorry.
As far as those no-name companies, a tanker truck driver told me that most buy their gas from the spot market at the cheapest cost. He said the quality is not always the best and sometimes the storage tanks where he loads from have lot of water in them, and the gas stations sometimes don't keep the water out of the tanks.
On the opposite end the big petroleum companies have their own tanks and are fairly clean.
Thats just what I heard.
