Sensor coming out of radiator??? TPI engine

I have an 88 GTA Trans Am with an automatic 350 TPI. I noticed on the passengers side of my radiator it looks like there is a sensor or something plugged into it. It looks like maybe a wire used to go to it,but i cant find it. The sensor thingy has what looks like blade or male type connector for something like a female connector. Anyone have any clue what this thing coming out of the radiator is,and should it be hooked up....Thanks...Al in NJ

That is a replacement radiator (maybe a modine or something) and that sensor is used on some applications, but not ours.. I believe it is a coolant level sensor. No worries, I have one too (disconnected).

My 88 GTA has that too. Is the coolant level sensor & if is not pluged in you will get a low colant reading on you dash. Look around, the cable should be somewere around. Do you have a digital dash? Because mine is digital & there is a little diagnostic window on my dash (the one that reads "PONTIAC" when every thing is fine) When I changed my radiator the first time I didnt know about the sensor & the radiator that I got didnt have the conection for it. So all the time that I had that radiator, the diagnostic window had a "low coolant" reading.

That is a coolant low level sensor that was used in some of the earlier model third gens and other GM vehicles. On the later cars that sensor was removed and a brass plug was installed in its place. On my 89 Iroc, there is a idiot light next to the parking brake light for that function. Since the sensor is not used on my car the light is non-functional even though there is a new bulb in it.
