how much horsepower do I have??

I have an 87 firebird formula and was wondering how much horsepower it has??

It has a 305.
-dual exhaust
-edelbrock intake manifold
-holly 4 bbl. carb
-14" x 3" edelbrock air cleaner
-just had it tuned up 2 days ago

that is not enough info. IS it original engine? What is your engine code number? Paste your VIN number online, and then we might know.

Its original and the VIN is 1G2FS21H7HL212168. It has 129K miles.

I work at a high performance auto shop. Its an awesome job. Last week we had a 1,600 horsepower engine. It was for a monster truck. they have a dyno room but its for off the frame engines.


More Info. Its an A4, LG4, V8, with 9.3:1 ratio

Torque is 250@2800 rpm, that was out of the factory

According to your VIN you have the LG4, arguably the worst V8 put into a thirdgen. Stock they came with 165hp in 1987. Right now the cam is holding you back and preventing the new intake and exhaust from helping as much as they should. Don't bother paying to put it onto a dyno. You'll be disappointed. Replace the cam, and get rid of those awful exhaust manifolds for some headers too. Then take it and have it dynoed for the hell of it. Let me know what you get. Maybe I won't tear mine out for a 350 if you come back with decent numbers...
