car still stalls, and i cant figure it out???

Ok i have had this problem ever sense i bought this car. it only stalls when its hot and when u r on the brakes slowing down for a stop sign or red light, also if u were to put it in gear and hold youre foot on the brake. i cant figure it out i have changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, knock sense, iac, cleaned the throttle body, checked the maf, its a new tranny so its not the torque convertor. The engine only has 10000 miles on it, but its a reman engine and the block and heads are like a 1979, and it has the 1987 305 tpi on it. Does anyone and any clues or ideas that would help me. could it be the dist? or fuel injectors?

Does your car die instantly as soon as you hit the brakes?

Sounds like the torque convertor may be locking up at low speed and causing the stall. This is usually controled by a relay there is a way to bypass it on the trans by unpluging something but I cannot remember what. Try putting it in netrual when you are slowing down or low gear 2 or 1 and see if it does not stall. If not its probably a torque convertor issue.

It only stalls when ur about to stop at a light, and it only does it when its warmed up. When its cold it doesnt do it. Could it be the dist magnets are worn out?

I have the same problem of the car stalling when it is warm, plus it stall when comming to a complete stop. I, however, have a manual transmission. I just intentionally ran my gas tank bone dry and changed the inline fuel filter, then refueled the gas tank. So far, so good... no more stalling.

Have you tried changing your inline fuel filter?
