Depends on how big and where the leak is.

If its a small leak you might be able to get away with a stop leak thrown in, but I don't like using that stuff.

If its like most thirdgens, the plastic tank is split, and that means a new radiator is in your future.

It would cost just as much to put a new tank on as it would to replace it.

i've fixed a lot of radiator leaks. find the leak, clean it up and solder it. i use air and windex to soap with. stuff a few rags in the openings and stick a air gun in with about 15 PSI.use 50/50 solid core solder w/flux.

I guess the question of the days is ...is what kind or car??

Ede is right, if its a metal tank.

If its a thirdgen, aren't most the tanks plastic??

The aluminum Rads are crap....they're light but weak. I swapped mine with a 3 core steel one and had no problems for 3 years now.

Autozone has a lifetime warranty on everything, even there clutches, its all crap, dont go with autozone, Sure you will have a lifetime warranty but you will be replacing the radiator every six months.
