Bored.030, 400 Crank, 6" Rods...Cubes???

my shortblock is a standard 350 block bored .030 with a 400 crank and 6" rods instead of the 5.7's. what will my exact cubes be? i know id be running about 388 with 5.7's but what about with 6's?

383 CID, rods play no part at all in engine displacement.

oops, i guess thats common knowledge.....well sorry for the dumb question but wouldnt the over bore give a few extra cubes?? and the longer rods should provide more torque correct?

Yes the .03" over bore gives you 383 CID instead of 377 with a standard 4.0" bore. The effects of a longer rod are arguable at best, it doesn't really do anything other then reduce rod angularity and bore wear.

I'm hoping for a true 400hp at the crank. DD2000 says 480hp.

Gotta love the Desktop Dyno predictions. Maybe thats how the r!cers get so much horsepower.

Another thing rod length does is create more clearance between the piston skirt and the crankshaft counterweights.
