Head Gasket

I am getting ready to put my heads on the block. The heads have been milled and the block was decked and cleaned. The gasket is a Fel-Pro steel shim gasket. Do I need to use any sealant in the water pasages or just torque it down dry.

I would spray it with some gasket spray. Not only will it help the gasket seal but it will also hold the gasket in place when your putting everything down.

i wouldn't use a uncoated shim type gasket. fel pro makes a coated shim gasket. like you were told use a spray sealer. i like k&w copper in a spray can.
