1st Dyno Run Results

Ok, I hope this is the correct area for this.. A new used car dealership/service center just opened today.. and I noticed they had a Dyno. So I stoped by to see if it was a good one. Which it is. and figured, what the heck.. treated myself to my first Dyno run. The engine it's self is stock. with basic intake, and catback. I think the results for the power it mades at the rear wheels isn't bad .. Whats everyone's opinions? does it look reasonable. ?
The only thing I wonder is if my car actually weighs that much.

That torque is way high considering the motor is only supposed to make 265. The weight of the car really shouldnt matter on a chasis dyno. Im not really sure why they would put that on there.

The thing i dont really like about the chart is that is shows power to speed readings. Id rather see power to rpm readings. I also just noticed that the peak hp reading occured on a shift spike. It looks like its closer to 115hp which seems a little low.

there was some other printouts I could have got.. I thought this one would be a better one.. I can always go back to talk to them and get more information. It was my first one.. it was all fun anyways.. The weight was shown as it was part of the base line specs in the computer.

The Mustang dyno works differently than a Dynojet. The Mustang actually throws a load on the drums while the car is revving up where the Dynojet does not, thus the differences in the numbers.

A buddy of mine with an '03 Cobra put his on a Mustang and it showed like 270 RWHP and was over 400 on a Dynojet.

Ya it's a pretty cool unit. I know it's gonna be quite popular with the local car guys, drag teams, and imports. I'm thinking I can figure out my RPM based on the final gear ratio in the drive train based on the speed (I hope).. Not a big deal however.. I did the test just for fun, and to see what the car would pull being stock. I'm happy with the results.. The only thing I should have done was brought the video camera

If done properly, they should have had you run to redline in the gear that had you as close as a 1:1 ratio (usually drive) to get the true readings. Not for sure in Canada, but the majority of people who want to get (what people consider) true readings use the Dynojet instead of the Mustang.

I think they did, as most of it was in third gear which is 1.0
Now I wish I had the video camera.. to replay it.. oh well

Oh, you didn't get to run it yourself? That's a bummer....we get to run our own cars, the people who run the dyno just strap it down and push the button when we say go.

Nothing like seeing your speedo peg out at 140+

actually I didn't mind them doing it for this one.. I actually wanted to hear what my car sounded like from behind .. and I must say the Dynomax Ultra-flo Cat-back is kick *** at Wide open throttle..

The section before the spike is 2nd and the part after the spike is 3rd gear.
