power output after mods with dragstrip time
power output after mods with dragstrip time
I was at that dragstrip this weekend to run my car and the best time I had was 14.89 at 92.7 MPH. The temp was cool, only 55 deg. At first I had a problem with traction, but each run it got better. After all of the mods I have done I thought this motor should now run at least 14.5's. Look at the mods in my signature and tell me if you think this is all my motor is capable of.
Thanks, Todd
I also have a hypertech thermomaster chip. (not in signature)

What was your 60' time? That ET seems about right for your MPH. Have you done anything to help the induction system? You have a cam and heads but have you upped the fuel pressure or ported the runners? Seems like your engine isn't breating as well as it could.
For comparison my L69 with stock heads and cam but with RPM intake, 600 Holley and headers runs 14.7@93.5.

i would guess it's capable of more. man, i'd be guessing 14.2 to 14.4, but i'm not sure of your altitude at your track. sure isn't making the hp it should with that trap speed. and i see it's a stick. powershifting it??? launch rpm???
On the 14.89 run my 60 ft time was 2.13 seconds. I did a small burnout on dry pavement then pulled right to the line. I launched at about 2500 rpm with the tires spinning some. I shifted at 5500 rpm's except my last shift from third to forth was at 5000 rpm's. As for shifting I used the clutch and only slighty took my foot off the gas. My tires are dunlop p5000 245-ZR16's and were at 32 psi each. With all of the mods I did I really was hoping for more. What do you think?

fuel pressure is at 46 PSI. The base timing is set at 8 deg. adv. I cut out the air boxes under the filters and removed the screens from the MAF sensor. hope this info helps.

I would have expected a time closer to low 14s, but track altitude and conditions may not allow it. What you need to do is find out what other average cars are running at your track in similar weather conditions to compare how you're really doing...
