Can wrong valve springs have a major effect in HP???

Well I have edelbrock aluminum RPM heads with a Comp cam flat tappet XE274 cam and compcams 1.6 magnum roller tip rockers. I was wondering if the valve springs could be holding the engine back? Maybe upgrading to some comp 986 springs would help? What do you guys think?

If you had coil bind and bent all the pushrods, that would have a major effect in HP, or if your springs were too week and you had early valve float.

Or, if they are too stiff, they effect the action of the lifters hydraulic mechanism, ultimatly, risking collapsation. But that has to be really stiff.

What are the spring specs you have now?

thats the problem I cant really find specs on the springs that come with the edelbrock heads. all I know is that there is a max lift of .575",1.45 spring diameter thats it.
