Will this fit under a short valve cover??
I have been having a problem with one of my rockers backing off on me. Since I dont want to adjust it every couple of days, I decided to get some of the ARP poly-locks to replace the regular rocker nuts. Does anyone here know if they will fit under short style valve covers? I am running 1.5 steel roller tip rockers, does anyone else run anything similar to this (ARP nuts, roller rockers, etc)? I just want to make sure that if I need new valve covers I order them all at once to save the extra 8 dollar handling fee.

I have similar locks I believe the brand name of mine was "kool nuts" I don't think they will fit under "short" covers
sweet pic man. I was afraid of that. One of the guys at my local autozone said he knew they would, but I dont take the guys up there very seriously. Kinda sucks if I have to replace them, I guess I will just have a nice set of short chrome valve covers for my garage wall now.

Poly-Locks are ALOT of trouble to go to, if you don't need them. And worse yet, if you're not used to them, they WILL loosen and fall off, at least a couple of times, before you get the hang of it.
For your situation, try double-nutting the nuts you've already got... just add a jam nut to each of them. That's what I usually do for that.

im running ARP polylocks on pro magnum rockers.... and it clears both stock centerbolt, and short perim valve covers...
but i have dart heads, and i dont know if they raised the cover rail..

well, if you run a solid roller and do it that way.
think about this:
as you tighten that set screw, its pushing on the stud... and pulling UP on the outer nut. increasing your lash.
if you put the nut where you want it, then back it off about a 1/4 of a turn, then tighten the set screw, then turn the setscrew AND nut back a little over a 1/4 of a turn (to make up for the fact that the screw pulls the nut up) you get a accurately set lash that NEVER moves.

I see your point with the solid cam (good tip for future use if I don't forget it lol) I have a hydraulic set up and always do my final adjustment with the engine running so that last little bit of movement isn't that critical.
But as far as them loosening up once the set screw is tight I have never had a problem with that.
