My New Top End...
Well, lots of you guys have probably seen the threads about all the $hit I've been going through with this car lately, but it all worked out for the better! I got the oil pump fixed, got it mostly tuned right, and it runs like a top.
I know some of you are gonna knock my choice of intake, but as Five7 always says "run what ya got" and thats what I had. I like it too... low end grunt feels the same as stock, but its got a REALLY nice high rpm howl now!!
Is it really necessary to change the vacuum hose for the brakes to a steel line though?

BTW - for those who don't know what I was talking about with the oil pump, heres a pic of what I found when the pan came off.
(HINT - look at the slot where the driveshaft connects to the pump)

Nice looking setup!
As for your question - no, the power brakes vac line does not have to be metal (in fact, I've never seen one that was)

id say so thats the way they came from the factory
if you replaced the factory rubber line just make sure its as thick as the factory stuff as in wall thickness

AFAIK, you couldn't have screwed that metal brake booster line into the back of that carb anyway, so it's a moot point. Rubber hose is fine.
Looks nice!!
BTW...what happened to your L69?? Is it just me, or does it seem like a lot of us have switched out the L69's lately?

But I got a new pump in there now, and it works beautifully. At running temp, its got about 35lbs at idle, around 60 at WOT.

More likely it got a chunk of something in there somehow. Did you weld the pick-up tube on?
Glad you figured it out, though.

That looks better than stock for sure! Now you need to put on your headers and get something to properly route your spark plug wire.
The track is only open this weekend and next before it closes if you were thinking of taking it down the 1320.

Plug wires have been rerouted, and they are now really purdyful, and won't burn up!

Its $20 a day to race in SL. You get 3 hits in the morning and then setup into the brackets. If you decide to go and want to meet at my place and head out together let me know.
