aftermarket oil pans
Looking at aftermarket oil pans for my new motor, just wanted to see what your opinions/experiences are with different brands. I have been looking at the TPIS 7 qt. pan that has a windage screen. Also the Moroso deep pan looks nice too. Anyone with experience with either of these in terms of fitment etc.? Need something that's going to clear the stock k-member and exhaust setup that runs between the two.

what's wrong with the stock one? You can typically yank one froma junkyard a dime a dozen, and they're pretty close in cost to a dozen dimes as well lol

I'm running the Moroso 20180 6 quart pan. It may fit with a stock sized Y-pipe, can't tell ya that for sure. If you go with a bigger Y-pipe it gets real tight around it.

The 20180 is for a pre 80 block with driver side dipstick. The one for the 86 and up blocks with passenger side dipstick is 20182. This pan does not have a windage tray built into it so you would have to buy one.

Im running the 20182 Moroso 6qt. It did not clear my SLP ypipe, I had to get one custom-made. It also did not come with a windage tray, I had to buy that seperately. The pan fits nice, though, and it seems to seal great so far and it also sacrifices no ground clearance.

Canton makes some very nice stuff for our cars. Milodon has some nice stuff as well.

Edit: Canton makes a purpose built Road Race pan for our cars. Also works well on Drag cars. Will clear factory or aftermarket y-pipe. Used on SCCA road race and A-Sedan series. A very nice piece. Great quality and fit.

I had a fitment issue with the Milodon 7 quart stroker pan, but only with the SLP y-pipe cross-over section.
