What does it mean when black deposits is coming out of my exhaust pipes

As the subject says.....what does it mean when black carbon deposits is coming out of my exhaust pipes at start up??Is it my heads?valves?both?Will it effect my smog check when i go in later this month?All and any info will be greatly appreciated

Its little specs of black deposits...its not really black smoke but little specs of black somethings lol

I think what you are seeing is water condensation mixing with the carbon deposits in the exhaust. In my opinion this is normal and goes away as the exhaust system heats up. For your smog check you want your car at it's normal running temperature. So make sure it is warmed up. Allen

i have to agree with you...what is the fix for this??new heads?and i think this is why its throwing codes 32,42 and 45...it says im running rich...and then im not getting enough spark
