Connecting starter
Connecting starter
I've had my engine out awhile and can't remember where the starter wires go. There is a black wire from the battery that goes to the big terminal? then three red wires from behind the engine block that go?? I think 2 of them have large connectors and the third has a small connector. Do all 3 red go to the small and the one black to the large terminal?
Thanks

Just curious as to why you have a black cable from the batt to the starter. Usually black would be the negative cable off the batt, and RED would be the positive cable off the batt going to the starter. Also, there are 2 small terminals on the solenoid, and the wire with the small terminal will connect to the "I" terminal on the solenoid, not the "R".

Well I don't know, mine's an 89 and the batt cable is black, the smaller terminal wire is black, and the others are red. On my solenoids the terminals are "R" and "S" and "S" is the one that the small-terminal wire connects to. Were they different for different years?
