mine was in the deck. But, you should be able to sleeve the block. Should be about 100 bucks

yup mine is like that but worse the side collapsed in the cylinder. I am taking it in for machining tomorow thay said that they could sleave the block.

Trans, yes you are in deep sh@#. On the plus side it looks like a repair is possible. I see it this way, it might be an opportunity to build another engine and add some goodies to a fresh block. Good luck.

When I took the block in to be machined my machinest told me that sleveing the cylinder was more than possiable to sleve my block and that he has fixed much worse. Plus I am going to have my heads ported and the bottom end is going to be re-balanced. hopefully I will get my parts back before next month (my machinest is a little behind on his work).

If a machine shop does a slight sleave work on the block, cause of a crack. Will that block be able to withstand constant launches and nitrous use.

I'm getting a cylinder sleaved right now. If I could afford it, I'd get them all sleeved. There are many race engines in town that have all 8 cylinders sleaved.
