Installing pistons, will be sitting for awhile Q

I'll be installing a set of pistons tomorrow, the block will probably be sitting for another month or two before I even get a chance to install it and fire it off.

Normally I'd wipe the bores with 30wt, but since it's going to sit for so long, should I use assembly lube or something similar?

No, not a SBC, oiling characteristics are completely different.

Just oil should work fine, it just has to coat the bores so they dont rust

Ya, that's what I was figuring on doing, but have seen many use some sort of white grease/lube in the bores for engines that would be sitting for awhile, just wondering if it was necessary or not.

you should only have to coat it with oil and then bag it and it should be fine just make sure you wipe all the machined surfaces also so they dont rust ....

I put duct tape over my deck when it sat for a bit, a bag will suffice. Shot of oil now, and then some later is what I did.
