VIN > Dealer > Code cut a key. If they tell you they can't call another dealer, I just had a set cut on an '89 GTA this past spring.
Otherwise look up the article to get the VATS bypass stuff, or go to SEthirdgen.org, IIRC Bernard has an article there for it as well. Pull your ignition cylinder and bring it to a locksmith, who for about $15, will cut you a new key.

Is there any wire combination or sequence of events that i could use to start my car? kind of like just making it a push button start?

'ing you. I lost my only ignition key last year. I had to have the car towed to the dealer. They had a Kent-Moore VATS Interragator which they hook up to the car to figure out which resistor value (#'s 01-13) it is. Then they just cut a new key with the proper resistor -- i think it cost about 100 bucks.I'd suggest trying another dealership, they either don't know what they're talking about or are unwilling to help.

You are really making this harder than it is. Did you even read my previous post?!?
Put the car in neutral manually from under the car. Move it.
Pull the ignition and get a key cut. Then bypass the Vats.
-OR- Call a different dealership and get a code cut key- THEY CAN DO THIS!! If you have -that- much of a problem, give me the vin and I'll see if I can get anyone at a dealership up here to do it. Cripes.

Axle/Gears: stock??
push botton a start is very simple. all thier is mounted on your stearing colum is a igniton switch. the key goes in and turns the cylder . all that does is move a rod that attaches to the igntion switch. and all this does is pull a metal plate back and forth to conect the 2 sides of the wire. just look up in your chilton which is the starting wire. and which and run acc. and so on. then make swithces and that their you go but the other thing is your gonna have to ethier
A) hit your steering clum with a hammer really hard to break it loose.
b)get a key made.
you don't ahve a key. which leaves us with A . lol so enjoy all it is . is a pin holding the stearing wheel form moving so have fun

That';s just one thread. There are a bunch. If you are going to bypass the VATS then you can just go buy a new cylinder for $15-20. Search up and you'll find the info you need.

Every ignition i ever bought came with the instructions on disassembly and assembly of the new cylinder. Of course you'll need to pick the lock and have the cylinder in the run position to get it out.....If you want some pointers on picking it open..shoot me a email...don't want to say it on here, might get fined and lose 25 points
