High Idle after hitting wall.
Well, I hit a nice size puddle of standing water on the highway during some rain and slid into a concrete median wall in my Z. The car died when I hit the wall. I got it started, but the idle is high, around 1600 rpms. It's a smooth idle, not rough. Everytime I start the car, it idles normal for the first 15-30 seconds, then it jumps to about 15-1600 and stays there. Does anyone have any idea where I should start looking? IAC maybe? Thanks for any input.

when you hit the wall i'm going to make an assumption that you didnt brake anything, just scraped a quarter panel or something, not a radiator buster or anything.
I bet if anything you knocked a vacuum line out off somewhere, or the impact was enough to make a brittle vacuum line break out somewhere.
Any other description you can give if it's not a vacuum line?

I thought about the vacuum lines, I just haven't had any time to really get into it yet. Spent my last days off work straightening out the face. I'll have to wait till I get another day off work to troubleshoot the idle. And there's really no other description or symptoms other than what I described at first. Just trying to get some thoughts on the matter so I can have an idea where to start once I get into it. Thanks for the input.

It kinda sounds like your engine computer is not going into closed loop and is staying in open loop. Hows your gas mileage? Does it show any codes?
