wireing up a alternator in a 92

i was wondering if any one can tell me the right way to hook up an alternator in my 92 camaro
a freind of mine took out a 2.8 engine and replaced it with a 305 out of a 92 and hooked everything up for me the alternator worked fine for about a year then went out i got another one and hooked it up worked for a couple of hours then went through 4 more before it finally worked right ( i wired it up three different ways then a professional wired the fourth one up) for about another year now im going through the same problem again ( i also have a 8 hundred watt amp and four tens in the back to) the alternator is a ac delco from usa but luckily its lifetime warranty

That amp's not helping at all.. You might want to hook up a second battery.

SPeaking of which, dying batteries will kill alternators pretty quickly.

It's hard to hook up an alternator the wrong way, you plug the connector in, and you screw in the line running from the battery to the back.

I'd say that if it lasted you for a year you're doing damm good!
Go to the audio board and see about extra batteries(as already mentioned), and even lightning caps and what not. I have a buddy that toasted a delco alternator in a couple months just because of the stereo.

you should just chuck the stock alternater,,and buy a 110 amp one wire alt. from jegs.Just hook up the 1 wire to the batt. and your good to go,,,,,,
they have the east coast alt.'s 110 anp alt for 199.00...not a bad investment...
I have one and i have 4 10's also,,,with an orion 1000 watter..not had 1 problem since...
