My friend (she drives a civic) was talking to her new coworker about her stupidass car. The guy said this exact quote according to her: "You know, you can really turn a Civic into a racecar!"

When she told me this i started rolling on the floor. My friend said "yeah if you can find a big enough hill to roll it down!" And I said "or put an engine not powered by a hampster and wheel inside". It was fun.

It was all fun until i broke my finger later today. I'm in pain. Its hard to type and drive, and my medicine makes me dizzy (Motrin 600s- and i weigh only 116 lbs :P ).

I deserve not to have this topic locked.

lack of respect for anything that you don't want to own show's you need to stay on the medication. i hate mopars, but to say they can't be made fast is lame by any standards. someday you'll find one of them fast rice rockets on the road and he'll show you where to bring your camaro downhill. i'm a solid camaro fan (i own one now and three previous), but no reason to take shots at anothers ride.

 

I dunno, I'd say the Honda twin-turbo V8 engine they produce is pretty race-capable.

I could not agree more about not putting other cars down...its just not nice. A car is a car, and a car enthusiast is a car enthusiast. Instead of knocking 'em, just smile and nod knowing that your monstrously displaced rear wheel driven sports coupe is what makes YOU happy! 'nuff said.

 

I'm all for slamming ricers, but wait to slam them until they talk **** about you. Then show them what a real car does!

While I am in no means favoring a civic, there ARE plenty of ricers out there with nitrous shots that could put my car to shame. (Mostly stock.)

Then there's good ol' American v8's with twin turbo's that could put an LS1 to shame.

And then, there's the Camaro ZL1 concept car putting out 770 horsepower out of a naturally aspirated engine. That's phenominal. Not the highest ever, but still awesome. Imagine slapping dual turbo's onto that baby.

So.. A car is a car is a car. Whether it's the only Pinto or the divine Thirdgen, SOMEbody is going to make it into a race car. Sure, a thirdgen is in stock form far more racable than a Civic, but Civics do have some good points... like.. ummmmmmmm...... They have larger back seats? lol

DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU JUST SAID??? SINCE WHEN WAS THE WAR BETWEEN AMERICAN CAR AND IMPORTS A FAIR GAME! THE IMPORT-RICERS ARE TOO SMUG AND ****Y AND DO NOT DESERVE ANY RESPECT, however if those UNCLE BEN POWERED junk boxes were ever to dissapear, tht would make street racing just and tiny bit duller.

 

To make a somewhat tech comment - the ONLY thing civics have over thirdgens is weight, notwithstanding the technology advantage of getting more hps per cubic inch since they are newer and also made by Honda. I don't really consider foreign cars rice, I consider a slow car made out to be fast rice. If Honda ever made a production V8 rwd I just might be there with my credit report!

Especially a turbo!!
