Those with 305 TBIs in here please........

What kind of gas mileage are y'all getting. Reason is I'm going to be buying a daily driver here real soon and I'm trying to decide between the V6 and 305 TBI. If the gas mileage in the 305 TBI isn't any better than the TPI's then I'm gonna go with the V6. I don't think it will be any better but i'm just checkin.

I'm getting around 25mpg with my 100,000+ miles completely stock 305 TBI. I think TPI will probably get a little better.

Yeah.. I'm getting mid-20's as far as miles per gallon goes.

That's not stock, but.. that only includes an open-element air filter.

Proper maintenence will keep mileage up.

27+ on the freeway, about 18-20 around town. Bet it won't be that good when the 3.73's go in

Not bad. So I'm looking at bascially between 17 and 25 around town and 25-30 freeway. OK, so at least I have a base line. Not as much as I had hoped for but a major improvement over my 8-10 mpg around town and 22-26 on the highway.

18 ~ 20 MPG on my 92 RS with T-5 and TBI, you won't get as good as a 6 unfortunately, close but no cigar. Funny thing I get almost as good mileage on my GTA!!

Get the 5.0 TBI engine, I have had both, I bought a 89 Camaro RS with the 2.8 MPI 5-speed and it preformed pretty good for a six, but then in 92 I traded it in for a 92 RS Camaro with the 5.0 TBI 5-speed and the V-8 was a lot faster and got better gas mileage, the six clyinder cars have different gears in them and they turn more RPM all the time. I can get 29 to 31 MPG on the Hwy. @ 75 MPH with the TBI and the most the six would ever get is about 27 to 28 at the same speed, but both averaged abot 20 MPG. The V-8 will outlast the V-6 also because it does not work as hard.
