Car Cuts off

If I am stuck in traffic or moving at less than 10 mph for longer than 10/15 minutes the car cutsoff, there is no problem restarting the car. Any suguestions? It is a V6 3.1L with custom CAI. see photo.

Does the idle fluctuate? How is idle quality? Does it just die, or does it sputter and die off? More info needed

have not notice idle jumping. it sputters/ or you can feel it choke and then dies off.

so your idle quality is good? if so, and then your car dies off, that is weird.

I'd try to clean off your MAF sensor (do a search to make sure you do it the right way, I cant remember the proper procedure atm).

Unless you have a MAP sensor, in which case iunno lol, it could be an ECU on the way out or your alarm working weird.

But get that MAF cleaned and give it a trial then

The 3.1 is MAP, 2.8 MPI's are MAF.

I would check the Idle air control (IAC)

My 2.8 used to cut out when it got hot. Turned out to be an ignition prob. Check the module (some say Pep Boys or AutoZone does a free check, I've never had to try them so I can't be sure).

A failing sensor also can do this when it gets warm, but whenever this was the case I also got a code and SES light.

i would also check the coil... or the coil wire...some times the coil wire will crack inside and when it heats up the wire expands and pulls away from each other cutting off spark and boom ur car dies...happend to a guy that came into my work...altho u say it starts right back up....but atleast its a place to start...id would just try a normal tune up and see how that goes
