360 engine combo
Hey, I'll have a 350 bored 0.060 soon. I wonder if I get a set of 416 casting heads and send them to a machine shop to be ported, polished, put 1.94/1.60 valves on them, increase runner size, polish intake and exhaust pockets, get a Comp cams cam and valve kit that could make good power, keep good idle and last up to 5500 rpm, add a Holley Street Dominator intake and 750 carb, what kind off power am I looking at? The 350 is cast, pre 86 and nothing special has been done to it.

Ok, here we go:
-The block is an 89 Goodwrench 350 (Bored 0.060)
-Get this: The block is a pre 86 design
-Stock 5.7 rods
-Stock Crank
-All stock parts have been given the "works" at Reeves performance in Middle Ga.
-Lunati Pistons(4 valve reliefs-9.5 CR)
-All the parts listed in the above post.
All I want from this setup is to break the 300 mark and possibly break 300 at the wheels. I do not wish to take this car to a strip. (This will go in the Z28) I have invested a total of (drumroll please?) 250 dollars on the motor so far. This is what I currently have:
-350 block with all internals, gaskets, and other necessary hardware.
-14014416 casting heads
-Holley Street dominator Dual plane intake
-Holley Dominator 750 cfm carb
-Hooker headers
I just want the car to get up and go on the road like I know it can. Besides, I'm not too fond of all the so called "stock Hondas" riding around. At least this will be closer to stock than the other car (388 Stroker/A.K.A. gas guzzler/A.K.A. BITE A HOLE OUT OF MY A$$
-err. I mean wallet. ) . Now, I'm not home at the moment (Deployed overseas), but I have an automotively competent wife (THANK ***!) and she can take the items to the local NAPA machine shop to get it done. I just want to know is it worth the trouble of doing all this work to some 305 heads? Any help is much appreciated. Yes this is the car with the bad tranny that I had rebuilt right before I left to fight for my country. I got shafted bad.(Not even with grease! Ouch!
-) If I ever find the guy that "rebuilt" my tranny, he WILL FEEL THE WRATH OF A PISSED OFF ARMY SERGEANT! For those that live in Warner Robins Ga, His name is Bob Thornton. (I will find you!)

An automotively competant wife? Jesus that's incredible!
But anyway...
Those can be good street heads if you work them over. Cut them for bigger valves, P&P the hell out of them. Totally worked over I believe they flow better than stock L98 heads, and they'll give you a higher CR.
and I can't make any guesses until I know what cam you're lookin' at.
