dash rattle (drivetrain related)
My 92 RS has 275k on the original engine/mounts.Now when at highway speeds i let off the throttle slighty i will get the good old "bog" from my tired engine. But I also get a nasty rattle in my dash pad.Trani mount? engine mount? any ideas.
Could be either of those, or no clearance for the exhaust system, or just something loose in the dash that is getting harmonic with the vehicle at those speeds. That would likely happen on acceleration as well, however.
Only 275K miles? When do you think it's finally going to be broken in? Makes a guy want to run out and buy a handful of those "long lasting" Hondas or Toyotas, or one of those "good" cars.
It would probably take a handful to make it to 275K...

It would probably take a handful to make it to 275K... Just curious. My last 15 Ford and Chevy vehicles, other than my truck were either rotted or smoking at 100k, but most every honda i've seen doesn't hit the junkyard until well over 250k, or a telephone pole, whichever comes first.

Maybe things in the other parts of the country down here are not like Boston, but man. We got plenty of hondas and they run GREAT!.

3rd gen discussions only, please.
There isn't a "tongue in cheek" smilie for Vader to use.

What he said. Actually, there aren't many "smileys" for me to use. That was merely a jab at all those clever advertising campaigns implying that some imports last longer than some domestics. There are a lot of 200K MILE SBCs represented here that have never had the valve covers off. It's all in how they're maintained.
So, back at the ranch, did you track down the source of the dash rattle?
