Where can i find a Ac delco FR2LS spark plug?

I was using these plugs because of the colder heat range. Even a FR3LS would be good but the local parts stores no longer carry either of them. The FR3LS is what trickflow suggests for a starting point. where can i find them? I did a search on the web but not much turned up.

I found a set of Autolites 3924 but they look like they might be a hotter plug then the delcos. How can you tell by looking at them?

After installing the Autolites IM getting some pinging when the water temps start to climb. So i think i need to find the colder plugs again. Just dont now where to find them.

go to the parts store (or dealer) ask for plugs for a 90 grandam vin "a" those are the (fr3ls) or go to a store where they have the ac delco plug look up book and look up that specific grand am and it will have the ac delco long number which is how you will find them

Thanks.. i didnt know they were oem for that application. I Will have to give that a try and see what they come up with. Dont know why IM having such a hard time finding those plugs.

Seems like, with most of the stores. They can only go by stock part numbers, anything aftermarket and they get lost.

I was looking on Trickflows site, and they now list the Autolite 3924, as a starting point for plugs as well. I didnt see them listed the last time i visited the site. I dont see the AC FR3LS listed now either.

Hello Mike,
Go to the website listed here and type your zip code in the upper right corner and then click on either parts or service and then click search. It will then display a list of business's near your location that will have what you want for AC Delco.

I happened to be looking at those at work today

I had the same numbers as you from afr and came up with nothing (I work at a dealer) so I tried the 89 corvette and got the fr5ls which was close but, wrong range I decided to grab an old ac delco sparkplug book (same ones autozone has on the floor by the filters) I flipped through real quick and noticed the 90 quad4 grandam took that same plug and they had the long number next to it (the long number is the one on the box) I bet if you flip through the book you will find your heat range

Thanks for the link....It came up with the 3 stores that I tried to find the plugs at already. Last time i bought these plugs there was only a few left on the shelves. Dont know what the big deal is with them.

I can use the autolites i guess, there good plugs just not sure about the heat ranges. I was loooking at the ground strap of the plug. The Autolite 3924, and from what ive read it looks like its buring close to the right heat range. Just seemed like the pinging started after installing them.

I did a little tuning last night. And added some fuel in the 20,30,40, kpa areas and rpm range. where it was pinging, and picked up some good throttle responce. No pinging so far, see how it goes when the temps get hot. Might have to pull some timing too. I think i was a little lean in this area anyway. Been adding fuel a little at a time and having good results. Just working on the 20-40 kpa areas now.

GM's part numbers for plugs go from lower to higher = colder to hotter.

You might not find the fr1, fr2 or fr3ls plugs anywhere.

The fr5ls is the stock heat range which equals the autolite 3926.
The fr3ls is one heat range colder = autolite 3924.
The fr1ls is two heat ranges colder = autolite 3923-3922.

You can find the autolite's at wal-mart.

Do a search for club plug and you will find the link and more info.

Re: Where can i find a Ac delco FR2LS spark plug?

Autolite plugs cause real driveability issues. You can see them break down on a scope. I see this a lot. A car or truck will come in missing or surging and I will put it on a scope and see the plugs breaking down. They are usually new Autolites. Installing AC Delco fixes the problem. I see this problem in ford vehicles also. Motorcraft fixes the fords.
