Stock for what 305? The LG4 and the L69 had two different cams.

If you're using the stock cam in the engine, a 525 Road Demon should work really well. It will give you better throttle response, acceleration, and drivabilty than a larger carburetor would.

Yes. Also, when in doubt, go small

I just have to ask, why the intake swap?
Are you going to get the performer RPM or the basic performer?

I would never go mechanical choke, but thats just me. I dont like screwing with that, its just not worth it. The electric choke or the conversion is your friend. My holley carb 305 starts everytime on the first crank. It starts way better then any new FI engine. I did the electrical choke conversion and will never regret it.

As for carb i'd go 625 so you will be ready for some upgrades later on.

The performer is supposedly a step down from the EPS, I couldn't say for sure whether there'd be any noticable difference between the two if you're using a stock cam, but if I had a choice between the two, I'd stick with the EPS.

You can order the 525 Road Demon Jr. Carburetor with either an electric, or manual choke.

I think the Holley 600 would do just as well if not better than a Demon 525 myself.

But I guess I'm a little biased since I bought what turned out to be "too small" of a Demon carb on my car right now that was "recommended" by a BG/Demon tech rep.....but not the same one posting here...need to make that clear.

And that was after I gave them every spec on my engine they asked for.

Think about it this way - the stock Q-Jet that came on the LG4's flow greater than 700 CFM's so why would you go even smaller than that? Just for better velocity at lower RPM's?? Yeah maybe, but it's not gonna flow as well as the Q-jet up top...
