I have 305 bored 0.60 over, 2200 stall converter, 3.73 gears. Will this cam work fine with ported 416 heads and z-28 springs??
Specs: 262/268 adv. dur.

.462in .477ex
rpm 1300-5500
Thanks

The cam listed will work fine with the gears, stall and springs but why are you using a marine cam? If it's free then I understand. For the best performance you should call the tech lines at the cam manufacturer. By doing this they can recommend the optimum camshaft for your application. Whether it be performance, towing, fuel economy, or all out drag racing. Oh, do you have a good compression ratio and a good intake manifold for the camshaft listed? You also will need a good flowing exhaust with headers and at least a cat-back.

I also decided to go with a marine cam, I went with it because it was a retrofit roller kit and it had 112 degree lsa as opposed to the 110 lsa on the xtreme energy retrofit kit. otherwise the specs are identical to the cam for factory hydraulic roller. I went with XM276HR for a 40 over 350.

Isnīt 218@0.50 too much for the 305? I can get the cam for 30 bucks itīs almost new........

Some guys told me that with marine cam iīll lose my top end cause they are designed for mid range torque and thereīs also too much lift.....

Honestly, I really think you should call comp cams and talk to them about a different cam. For all the work it takes to put in a cam and to not be happy with it would suck. Don't let $30.00 lure you in. Put $60.00 with it and have a better performing engine. You'll be happier.

It will be fine! The only difference from the XE262 is 112* lsa instead of 110* and alittle more lift on the exhaust. All in all it should give you a broader power curve over the XE262.

that's my cam!

I used that exact cam on my 355 TPI. I've got 1-3/4 SLP headers, large chamber heads, 323 gears with a 5-speed. Honestly, for TPI I think it's too big a cam unless I go with better heads. Feels like the power's just coming on at 3k or 3500, and by that time, you don't have too long before the TPI's starting to lose breath.

also, Warheart, is that a Children of Bodom reference? Awesome tune...

Badass. Nice to find some underground metalheads in the thirdgen crowd.

If its a flat tappet, and its not new, its not worth anything. Sure it could be reused, but why?
