Engine Combo? Thoughts?

I am doing my first engine build up. It is on a budget but here is what I plan on doing, please tell me if there is anything you forsee being a problem. Also any rough ideas on h.p. and torque. 1/4 mile times in an 89 hardtop?

engine:
91 truck 350 block
bored 30 over
350 heads 3 angle valve job and milled
Comp Cam 454 Lift
Edelbrock RPM Intake
Holley 750 D.P. (I think this may be to big)
Holley Blue electric fuel pump
no emissions
Headmen Headers and Y-Pipe
Flowmaster 80 series
MSD Distributor and plug wires

Trans & Rear End:
Turbo 350
B&M SHift kit
3.73 Gears

Thanks in advance.

i imagine by 454 lift you mean something like the old magnum series. The XEs are better. I would go with vortec heads if you have not already got something. You can make close to 400hp with vortecs and a XE268 cam.

There are an enormous variety of "350 heads" in the world. That covers everything from the ones on the early 70s LT1, to the ones that caused mid-70s smoggers to have a whopping 165 HP, to the aluminum L98 heads, etc. etc. Your results will be determined by what heads you use more than any one other single component. Nothing you can do will make up for a bad choice there. You'll have to be more specific about what you're going to use before you try to ask for estimates as to what you'll get.

I agree with jcb's cam recommendation; that old 268 was a great cam in its day but is obsolete. I should know, I've had a few of them (back in the 80s). A XE268 is a far better cam; way more power in exchange for the same gas mileage, idle, & drivability of the old one.

I am thinking about vortech heads but i might need a new intake. How much do those cost?

or edelbrock makes an intake for vortechs for just a little more than the regular performer RPM intake
