I have been very fascinated by this caddy beast, if you can call it that. Are there any technical books on its specific workings? I havent been able to find a darn thing yet this engine has been around for a while now. This thing could be really nice in a fbody tuned for racing.

An fbody "tuned for racing" needs a powerful small block chevy, not some stock, weak, Northstar engine.

Pay no attention to that man. The NA SBC is going the way of the dinosaur. If you want I have some specs that I could email to you. I forget which mag did an article about it HRM or CHP, but to run a Caddy in the F-body you need a 700R4 from a 2.8 and 4 of the 6 bellhousing bolts line up. Just a quick overview it's a DOHC hemi with even bore and stoke displacing 4.6L with even length individual intake runners and ports.

Synergy you don't know the first thing about what you're talking about..

Yeah, the Northstarts are bada$$. I got next to a 2000 STS on Rt 287 in NJ and this guy was cookin and then lets it loose! I couldn't keep up with him. Granted the differance in engine age and average wear but still... It shocked me. Not bad for a 4.6L. At least GM still knows how to build a engine under a 5.0 LOL

Here's a fun fact about the Northstar engine: The starter is located underneath the intake manifold. GM engineering at it's best.
