Guess what some Ford people said

"I just hope Ford puts more "beans" on the motor so we don't have to spend money just to keep up with the GM twins." Some also said if the new mustang sucks they will go buy a Camaro or something different, And they also briged a gap with us about all the ricers. "Well,
Many of the high end "ricers" used to put up a few good numbers but most of them cost over $40,000 (and most of them are dead now). Now for the same price, I can get an LS1 Camaro or a Cobra and fiddle with it and run circles around it. Now stock, they are pretty fast but for the price you pay, they should have been faster. That's just my opinion of course. Besides, their parts are more expensive too."

This isn't tech and I'm sure it will be locked. The reason cars like preludes won't ever be as fast as they should for the price is that Honda/Toyota/Acura will NOT under any circumstances jeopardized their beloved "image of reliability" they've worked so hard for. What this means is little engines, rev to the moon but don't make power down low no matter what! They just want all those good rankings in consumer reports. And why the hell do they always put "too bulky to be nimble" for the camaro/firebird in there?? What does that even mean? In parking lots I completely agree - but at speed these are the most nimble cars around!! I seriously think that magazine played quite a role in taking the f body so far out of the market - and it's not even true! Sorry, just had to vent

A new mustang gt is 5 to 10 thousand dollars less than a new f-body. What do you get for the extra cash? No trunk and a half to a full second quicker in the quarter, a stronger transmission but a weaker rearend. That is why new mustangs are outselling f-bodys. It's the MONEY!

5 to 10 thousand dollars less? What kinda crack are you smoking? They're about $1000 difference between a Mustang GT and a Camaro Z28 with the same options. A Trans Am is about $3-4 more.

Why is a Firebird always more expensive than the Camaro?? Poncho's have always been more than Chev's, why? Brand loyalty? different options?
