major under taking too rig up cable to hood flapper-------dont think its possable

hood flapper? like on a 1980 Z28? is this wha your talking about?

if so they are supposed to be electrically operated, by a WOT switch by the accelerator pedal.

yes the flapper motor on a crossfire is elec oper and i think the motors are very simalar in size and may work from a 1980 z, with cowl induction
