Cam confusion ????????

I need some help/advice in choosing a cam for my 305 tpi, I've searched the archives for info and now am more confused than when I started LT1, LT4, LT4 Hot cam. I originally wanted a comp cam pn 08-302-8 (264h-r12), but at $240 it's kind of expensive, when the LT4 cam goes for $150 and the Hot cam goes for $175. So what would be an acceptable substitute for the Comp cam? I am looking for a decent idle (not too much lope in it) Emissions not a concern.
Mods on or currently in process:
1987 305 bored .030 over
Ported TPI
World S/R torquer 305 heads
9.5:1 CR Hypereutectic pistons
Headman shortie headers and Y pipe
3" Dyno Max cat back
AFPR
Air foil
K&N Air filters
MSD 6A
Proform Distibutor
Blaster coil
Thats about all I can think of any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated

Melling makes or purchases cams and sell them fairly cheap Azone, checker, advanced all the nation wide parts stores carrys them. A melling "22210" has fairly close specs to a comp 270H the original LT1 cam grind I was told. MTC-2 has close specs to one of the ZZ4 cams go into a parts store and ask to see thier cam book or tell them what you want and see if they cam get it, They usualy run 140$ for a kit with lifters and lube.
