At my last tune-up, the mechanic saw a broken something another broken in the distributer, and replaced the whole thing. However, he used a used one. I am thinking that this may have something to do with my lack of performance issue. What is the best distributer to buy for my car? Thanks.

The one he put in will probably be fine, maybe he set the timing back and you need a bit more advance?

accel performance replacment distributors got a good rating in super chevy magazine (i think it was super chevy), they are an improvment over stock in all areas. They are not that expensive either.

But check the timing first and see if that helps.
