Massive Problems With Moron's IROC

An acquaintance of mine has an '87 IROC, 305, TPI, 160,000, auto, and it hasn't been started for awhile. before i got to it, someone told him to replace the ECM, so he did, i told him to change the fuel filter and check pressure and volume, and that was fine. I was told it ran for a few seconds off of ether, but that was probably compression ignition, because there is fuel, and no spark. He replaced the ECM, so codes aren't available, and i can't get spark with a tester. someone told him to replace the coil, but that didn't do anything, and i told him to not bother, i took out his ign. module, and had autozone test it 5 times, it kept on passing. where could the problem be, how can i fix it? any help is appreciated.

I agree with Mkos1980 that a bad pickup coil could cause the problems that you are having.
