cant go past 2500 rpm

ok i finally got my 350 tbi to run and when i go down the road it dosnt want to go to 2500rpm and when i get it there it just clicks and stalls and come back up so i cant figure whats wronge is a spark jumping, i looked for a possible place but could not find any. and when it is idleing i can rev it and i can get it up to 2500 rpm but it doesnot really want to and the rpms slowly go down when i let off of the throttle slower than normal. any ideas what could be wronge?

thanks
danny

Im not sure but I will give this a shot, check your plug wires to make sure you haven't connected a wrong cylinder. Just a thought, also check for cracks in the wire and boot.

By any chance do you have a Ignition system in the car? I know My accel unit has a built in rev limiter, maybe it broke or is out of adjustment? Just an idea.

Sounds fuel related to me. Change your fuel filter lately?

im more thinking Ignition Modual. They have low RPM and high RPM modes and other modes, and it could be that its causing the ignition not work properly past 2500. just a thought.

and wut do u mean by it clicks.

well the click is loud, loud enough to were my friend can here it 100 feet way when my engine is running it just makes a loud clack like i blew a huge fuse or something and engine dies and if i am moving forward the engine starts back up befor i can do any thing it is just a fast click for about 2 sec and engine is back up and it happens when i push the gas.
"They have low RPM and high RPM modes and other modes, and it could be that its causing the ignition not work properly past 2500. just a thought." how would i fix that? and will a 87 tpi T/A one work in there to test it? currently i have its distributor because i switched out earlier durning my engine swap because it would not start and tried it out.

well that did not work i think i will go in to the fuel and fuel filter area now and see if that might be the prob. one reasone why i think it is that is becasue my idle is going up and down about to die and some times fuel injectors spray goes to crap like there is not enough fuel or it is messing up, but i hered that holleys injectors are not the best anyways so........ back to the car i go. any thing else?

nope, dont have a guage yet but going to this weekend and i just got finished switching my filter wich probably needed to get changed. but after i changed it, it runs even worse i installed it. installed it correctly to the best of my knowledge and did put it the right direction so i think it is my fuel pump dieing even more every day because i cant get out of the driveway today, and i did change the ignition module too. so does the symptoms look right for a bad fuel pump and that would also explain a big noise in my car it would be a backfire from leanes. ???
