HSR on 406?
HSR on 406?
I really want fuel injection and have been reading up on all the systems, from what i read the holley HSR will get you high end HP but loose torque however it seems like a lot of guys use it. For those of you who do can you tell me if it will work with my setup:?
406 Low compression less than 9:1 .30cc dish Hypertectic pistons
Dart iron Eagle Heads 200cc runners 64cc chambers
XE274 Cam 487/490 lift 274/286 duration 110 lobe seperation
long tube headers
5.7 rods, eagle crank
Also what does it take to tune this system using the stock computer system? Is it possible to burn a chip that will support that combo with a supercharger with 6-8 psi boost?

Why such low compression? Do you plan on forced induction in the future?
well when i bought the pistons i was only 17 and didnt know any better i was just listening to my dad who i think was trying to keep my HP down. So now im stuck with them, but yeah i am thinking about supercharging when/if i change to fuel injection. I just want to know if the keith black hypertectic pistons will handle it.

That intake is perfect for what you want to do. Only problem I see is 6-8 psi of boost. They hypers won't like the boost, and IMO I don't think the block will hold that much power either. Unless it is a dart or motown block. Would be fun ride though.
how much boost would be safe for the block? pistons could be changed.... but i dont want to have to get a new block. Or would it be smarter to just change to some flattops and just put on the fuel injection?

You could do like I plan to do to my 400 block and that is to Hard Block it half way up. It really stiffens to block and doesn't affect cooling very much.

I think it is hard to rate, some guys have better luck than others alot depends on how hard a car is driven. 500-550hp the block should live. 600+ your pushing it with a stock block. With boost a 400 is going to make big power.
