AFR Hydra-Rev Kit???
I am contemplating a swap to a hyd roller b/c I am tired of setting valve lash. Anyway, if I install the Hydra-Rev kit, what kind of RPM can I turn, without going into valve float (assuming approx 350lbs open spring pressure and using comp's roller lifters)? Also, do they make this kit for a BBC? How much is it for either application?

With the right springs and some good TITANIUM retainers and locks, you can turn 6500 with the AFR Hydra-rev kit. As far as I know, they don't make a setup for the GEN. VI blocks yet. I have an OEM Hydra-rev kit in my current setup that I will be re-using in my 383 with COMP CAMS "R" series lifters. With the valvetrain that I will be using, I will make power in the 6600-6800 RPM's. A lot of LT-1 guys are spinning their engines up to 7000 RPM's with the "R" lifters, and a good sound valvetrain. DEFINITELY get a matched spring set, and those TITANIUM retainers and locks. HTH's

I put together a 350 for a friend tht would pull 7000 n/p with the hydra rev. I don't think there is a BB version. That was with a set of springs that came on the AFR195s and steel retainers.

AFR may not sell a BBC rev kit; others however do. Comp I know for sure does; I'm pretty sure Lunati does; there may be others.

rb, these are a little differnt than standard rev kits being they are for hydraulic lifters. The buttons on top have to clear the connectors for the lifter pairs.
What even is this Hydra rev kit thing?

It is sort of like an extra set of vavlve springs that fit inbetween the head and the lifter, to help the lifter follow the cam lobe at higher RPM's.

There is a company that makes a clone of the AFR kit. They also make a big-block version. Both are 100bucks.
You can get them from www.competitionproducts.com (maybe not online though)
